I remember grinding 2 days to beat Lapiz in Legend of Legaia but I don't really like FF VIII.

FF IV (cool)
FF V (good)
FF VI (FUCKING AWESOME)
FF VII (good)
FF VIII (junk)
FF IX (KICKING, really GOOD)
FF X++(piece of junk)

basically i don't really like playing RPGs because most of them share the same fact:

1.The main character is mute.
2. The main character is from a small village, and usually he/she has to run some errand for an old lady/man
3. When he/she came back from errand, the village's already destroyed
4.The main boss is a relative to the main character
5. Both main character and the main boss possessed mysterious power from an ancient tribe
6. First party member must be a healer girl
7. Second party member must be a very strong melee attacker
8. Third party member will be most likely to be a long-range attacker/magic, not as strong as the second one.
9. Either the second and third party member must have mysterious power from ancient tribe also
10. The main enemy will be either corrupt government or religious sect
11. And much more..

Each RPG has interesting story in it, i feel like crying everytime i listen to FF VIII / VII's soundtrack and theme
the sentimental value is infinite scratch

Shining the Holy Ark for Sega Saturn. Hands down. 1st person view, almost 360 environment (for 1997 was pretty hi-tech) And the gameplay left you with puzzles, hidden treasures to find WITH HINTS LOL. The pre-emptive strike with your assorted pixies was edge of seat tremendous! Then as you were walking along in a dungeon, you would come to a rail on the path like a rollercoaster turn, and as you went up it the ceiling became the floor and it was like a whole new dungeon with switches to find to get yourself thru. Linear pathed so just a solid grind with reasonable intelligence could make it to the objective.
